For the launch of their flagship Lumia Windows Phone, Nokia wanted to apply a viral strategy to spread the word about the phone. So they decided to create an app that would make it easy for the phone’s early adopters to “share the love” with their friends, contacts, and followers. They commissioned Steely Eye Digital Media to create the designs and Code Crew did the development for this innovative social/mobile app.
The app allows users to seamlessly “shout” their views on the phone by posting to their Facebook walls, tweeting their Twitter followers, and messaging over Window’s live. It also allows them to share their views to as many of their Window Phone contacts as they like by SMS, email, Facebook message, and tweet. In addition to creating the Window Phone app, Code Crew created Facebook and Twitter apps for a small ecosystem of interworking applications. The main challenge on this project was creating a user-friendly experience while at the same time meeting Facebook and Twitter’s stringent application security requirements for app integration.
The app is currently being deployed in the UK with plans for a global rollout.
Soon to be released on the Windows Phone Store.
